Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technology Director to join our team at Lantern. As the Technology Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the administration of Microsoft 365 services and components, leading tenant migration projects, driving internal technology initiatives, enhancing collaboration and productivity, and building the intranet. You will also be responsible for developing strategic roadmaps, establishing policies and governance measures, managing endpoint device policies, ensuring security and compliance, optimizing costs, and leading business continuity planning.
This role will be part of our team headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. We have a team presence across Canada and client engagements across North America. This position is remote (North America ONLY).
Position Responsibilities
- Microsoft 365 Administration (Including but not limited to): Oversee the day-to-day administration and maintenance of various Microsoft 365 services and components, including:
- Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Azure Active Directory, Enterprise Mobility + Security, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender (a plus), Microsoft Viva Suite (a plus)
- Tenant Migration (Including but not limited to): Lead and execute tenant migration projects, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruptions to business operations. This includes expertise in migrating various Microsoft 365 services and components, such as:
- Microsoft Teams
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- OneDrive for Business
- Azure Active Directory
- Internal Project Leadership: Drive internal technology projects from inception to completion, serving as a thought leader to keep the organization current with industry trends and best practices. Implement projects with meticulous planning, effective communication, and change management strategies.
- Strategic Road mapping: Develop strategic roadmaps for the company’s IT infrastructure, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Policies and Governance: Establish and enforce policies and governance measures within the Microsoft 365 environment to ensure data security, compliance, and best practices.
- Endpoint Device Policies Management: Manage endpoint device policies, including deployment, configuration, and security measures for a variety of devices used within the organization.
- Intranet Buildout: Lead the design, buildout, and ongoing technical maintenance of the company’s intranet on Viva, enabling effective internal communication and collaboration.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure the implementation of robust security measures, compliance policies, and data protection strategies within the Microsoft 365 environment. Stay updated on security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration and Productivity Enhancement: Collaborate with business stakeholders to leverage Microsoft 365 tools for improved productivity, communication, and collaboration across the organization.
- Cost Optimization: Manage Microsoft 365 licensing and subscriptions efficiently, optimizing costs while ensuring that the organization has access to necessary resources.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Engage with Microsoft and other technology vendors to stay informed about product updates, licensing changes, and emerging solutions relevant to the company’s technology stack.
- Training and Development: Develop training programs and resources for staff to enhance their proficiency in using Microsoft 365 tools effectively.
- Business Continuity: Develop and maintain business continuity plans for Microsoft 365 services to ensure uninterrupted operations in case of disruptions.
Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert: Demonstrating expertise in managing Microsoft 365 services, including identity, security, compliance, and more, is a plus.
